Featured scarf: 100% upcycled sari silk

Buy this silk scarf here! $45.00, free shipping

This is an offer for a hand knit Mobius scarf. What's a Mobius? It is a continuous loop with a 1/2 twist. It is knit in one continuous piece and the 1/2 twist comes from the method of cast on, not twisting the stitches or sewing together ends with a twist. Google for more interesting information about Mobius strips. The colors are shades of green, yellow, burgundy, blue, orange all in a fascinating, random array. . This is a great design for people who do not like long scarves with long tails. It can hang loose from the neck or be doubled around the neck for added warmth.

The fiber is 100% silk hand spun on drop spindles by women in a women's cooperative in Nepal. When silk saris are woven, there is always a little thread left at the beginning and the end of the loom. It is from this thread that the women spin into yarn.

Wonderfully soft, gorgeous colors. Purchasing this scarf helps these women feed their families because I will then purchase more silk.
